I think you make such a great point regarding job description - it is often overlooked, not put in detail, and ultimately leads to a failing relationship with the new employee.

Sonje,
I found your discussion of personality types as they relate to project managers to be particularly interesting. I grew up the son of a project manager in the aerospace field, and I learned first hand that project management requires the individual to wear so many hats. I am a big believer that the ability to think and evaluate from such a cross-enterprise perspective can only be enhanced with significant training, both in the class-room and in the field.
Cheers!

It's important to make sure the people in charge of your hiring are also well versed in the technical knowledge that is required for the positions they are filling. Your hiring managers need to be in the know and detail oriented.

I think your side was very informative. Currently I am unemployed and do have my n4 Certificate in Human Resource's. I did work for the Department of Labour during the period of 2002 - 2007. Will you please give me guidance to get employed again. I did complete a short training in Air hostess during 2008 and worked in small businesses.
Kind Regards

Excellent Post! Quite realistic and practical in terms of choosing the right project manager for the right projects to handle.

It's very useful too. You should choose a person who is really flexible and who is able to communicate with his/her co-workers, to prevent any misunderstandings. Good work!
